quilty update

So I just started playing with some Figgy Pudding using a pattern from Green Fairy, hopefully it'll go together quick, I want a stack of tops to quilt this summer! Any leftovers from this will be made into a ticker tape pillow to match.

Also just finished some more blocks for Rachel's quilt along.





I wanted to start cutting my Plume quilt out BUT! I can't find the pattern! I know the measurements, I don't know the exact number of Jelly Roll strips to cut. Plus my house got really hot today and if I turned on the A/C in April I'd have to take myself out back and beat the hell outta myself because I live in the Chicago area, we savor weather like this in April!

On a school note: I got my application for the state test!! I'll be taking it June 11th at 530pm so if I go MIA, I'm busting my ass studying for the test! Never thought the day would come where I'd be done. SQUEEEEE!!!

charity quilt done and sent!

I finished the quilt! It has been shipped off and hopefully will make some little girl very happy! I stippled the entire thing and used 6 bobbins total! They asked that be heavily quilted so I think I did that pretty well :)





I named it Dreams Come True because of all the fairies and it just seemed to have a magical type vibe to it. So, there it is, my first finish for 2010! My goal is to finish 10 this year. We'll see how that goes :)

it's done

The pink/orange top is done! Thankfully it's of a manageable size approx 37x46, hopefully this will get me motivated enough to finish the Christmas quilts done.

If you remember the post a few spots down about all that gorgeous pink and orange fabric I bought well, this is what it's becoming!!



It's a free pattern from Christa Quilts. There are 3 patterns for download at the top of the page, the one I used is City Blocks by Kitty Yoshida. I used 4 half yard cuts and 3 fat quarters. Just a word to the wise, if you're using only 6 different prints like I did, the sashings are cut 2 1/2 inches x WOF, cut the sashings first, other wise you'll end up just a smidge short on a few.

This pattern also lends itself well to jelly rolls and charm packs. The original pattern calls for 5 1/2 inch squares but it's very easy to adapt. It's also a good way to use up scraps too!
